Charlie's 10 work ethics

1 – Remember the copyright laws, and make sure everything I produce is purely my own work.

2 –Time management.

3 - Not to criticise others work by putting it down.

4 – Be punctual and on time.

5 – present my work neatly.

6 – To keep everything well organised so that it is easily accessible.

7 – always check with your clients or who you are working for if you don’t understand something. Better to be sure then find out later you were wrong….

8 – STRESS – It is very easy to become stressed, try to avoid this by taking brakes, and managing my time and by not taking on more than I can handle.

9 – Stay up to date with the latest software, and by reading magazines etc.

10 – Stay positive and have fun along the way…. You only live once…

jade's ethics

Accuracy

Accuracy is the indispensable value in journalism and must not be compromised. We must deliver error-free content, across all our media platforms. We must ensure that our content is a verifiable representation of the news and of our subjects. We promise never intentionally to mislead those who depend upon us for public service. We will correct errors promptly and prominently. We must be as accurate with our colleagues as we are with our audiences.

Honesty

We value original thought and expression. Our work will be free from fraud and deception -- that includes plagiarism and fabrication. We will attribute content and honor copyrights. We will strive to keep news content free of special interests, inside or outside the news organization. We embrace the value of transparency, disclosing the thinking behind key decisions -- from a credit line up to an editor's note on the front page.

Fairness

We must be scrupulously fair. We recognize that our work can have great impact on the subjects we cover and therefore we must respectfully balance that against the public's need to know. Even when it is impossible to avoid harm in the pursuit of truth telling, we will work hard to minimize that harm. We will listen to our critics. Our judgment in these matters must be based on our sense of right and wrong in a manner consistent with our professional values.

Inclusiveness

We will remain vigilant in our quest to combat prejudice and lead needed reforms. We will avoid stereotypes in reporting, editing, presentation, and hiring. Diversity, broadly defined, will be a hallmark of our work.

We accept the responsibility to understand our communities and to overcome bias with coverage that is representative of the constituent groups in the community. Over time, many groups, lifestyles, and backgrounds should see themselves and their values represented in the news.

Courage

Journalists need moral and, at times, physical courage to fulfill their responsibility to serve the public. It takes courage to stand behind values such as accuracy, honesty, fairness and inclusiveness. Such courage is necessary to achieve personal integrity and build credibility. This includes the courage to step beyond rigid boundaries. We must test conventional thinking explore innovative story-telling to help changing audiences understand an increasingly complex world.

Logic and literalness, objectivity and traditional thinking have their important place, but so must imagination and intuition, responsible creativity and empathy.

David K's Design Pathway's 2

Bachelor of Architecture (BArch)

Program Outline

Architecture is a dynamic and demanding profession, making a positive contribution to the shaping of our built environment and our culture. The essential skill of an architect is the ability to design buildings and spaces with an inherent concern for human living and working environments.
An architect plays an important role in social and environmental change with responsibilities extending over a wide range of activities on behalf of both the client and the community. Architecture is a synthesis of ideas, the product being functionally suitable for the purpose but also visually pleasing. The focus of this program is architectural design through studio and community-based projects. The projects involve the application and integration of the knowledge and skills acquired from supporting courses. In addition to design, key areas of the program are environmental design, architectural technology, architectural communication and computing, history and theory, people/environment studies, and professional studies.
Students are taught how to appreciate the ways in which design ideas can be used to order complexity at all scales from broad strategy through to detail resolution of building fabric. They develop their communication skills through the presentation and discussion of architectural and environmental design with their peers, the architecture profession and the community.

Cara Jones on Design Ethics

Design Ethics
What are ethics?

Ethics is a rational study of moral dilemmas in(human action. Morals are shortly defined as codes or guides of conduct, implicit or explicit, that are based on personal long-lasting beliefs and values or those of surrounding society. A personal act can be considered moral, immoral or amoral from the point of view of ethical studies:
• Moral - an act or though that is in line with personal and societal moral codes
• Immoral - an act or thought that is against personal or societal moral codes
• Amoral - an act or thought that does not reflect choice based on moral codes

1• The Designer’s main concern must be to create communications that are helpful to audiences and users and that meet their needs with dignity and respect. Any communication created by a designer that intentionally misleads or confuses must be viewed as a negative reflection on the profession as a whole.

2• Designers must conduct themselves ethically and with integrity.

3• Show respect for others in words and actions.

4• Act in the spirit of a global community and cooperation.

5• Respect the diversity of human beings, and their social, ethnic, and cultural differences.

6• Respect the natural environment.

7• Respect the intellectual property of others.

8• Designers must not knowingly use information in an unethical manner nor produce communications that are unduly manipulative or harmful in their effect.

9• Designers must advocate and thoughtfully consider the needs of all potential audiences and users, particularly those with limited abilities such as the elderly and physically challenged.

10• Designers must recognize that their work contributes to the wellbeing of the general public, particularly in regard to health and safety and must not consciously act in a manner contradictory to this wellbeing.

FASHION STYLIST

stituto di Moda Burgo was created with the intention of transforming its students into real fashion artists. Thus, each student is shown how to reconcile his individual imagination with professional workplace requirement. To become a fashion stylist means to be able to express a concept and implement it in terms of fashion. As a part of this process, it is necessary to know something about clothes, colouring techniques, manufacturing and most importantly how to give form ( style ) to an idea knowing that it can be realized. For this reason, stylism has put together fashion - designer courses and pattern courses understanding that the stylist is owner of the entire production cycle, from the start of an idea to the completion of the final product.
